Booking, Payment and Cancellation

These booking arrangements apply to our Taiwan tours. We confirm the itinerary, availability and full price before you book.

How to pay

Credit card

We send a secure payment link. Please request it a few days before you intend to pay; our office issues the link, so it is not instant.

Cash

New Taiwan dollars are convenient for one-day tours. We convert at the Bank of Taiwan selling rate on the day. Any cash arrangement must be agreed in advance.

Bank transfer

We send the current account details with your invoice. Please use those details rather than information saved from an earlier trip.

When to pay

PaymentTiming
30% depositSix months before departure, to secure accommodation when the booking window opens.
BalanceYou may begin paying from two months before departure.
Payment in fullNormally due two weeks before departure.

Bookings made less than six months before departure are settled in one payment rather than a separate deposit. Totals under US$3,300 also need no deposit. We tell you which schedule applies when quoting.

For tours of three days or less, a balance up to US$2,000 may be paid in cash by prior agreement. New Taiwan dollars are easiest; US-dollar cash can also be arranged at the current conversion rate. Contact us to confirm the payment arrangement before the tour.

Traveller details and insurance

To confirm your booking, please complete our Traveller Information Form for every person in your group. We send you the form when booking and use the details, including each traveller’s passport number, to arrange our Travel Agency Liability Insurance in Taiwan. This insurance covers our responsibilities as the agency and is included in your tour price.

You do not need to buy personal travel insurance or provide a copy of a personal insurance policy to complete this form. If you fill in all the traveller details, you do not also need to send a passport copy. Alternatively, you may send a passport copy for each traveller instead of entering their identity details; we will still ask you for any other tour information needed, such as dietary requirements.

Submitting traveller details does not require payment now. We contact you separately when payment is due, according to your booking’s payment schedule.

Personal travel insurance

Our agency liability insurance does not replace personal travel insurance. We recommend arranging your own cover for matters such as cancellation, baggage and medical treatment abroad.

If you choose to cancel

The following compensation is calculated from the tour price and the time before departure. The remainder is returned. If actual unrecoverable costs exceed the amount shown, we may claim the difference and will provide the costs.

If neither side is at fault

Where war, a natural disaster or an official travel restriction prevents the trip and neither side is at fault, neither side compensates the other. We deduct only genuinely paid, unrecoverable expenses, normally accommodation or vehicle deposits, and return the rest.

A general travel alert without a restriction falls under the cancellation table; an active conflict falls under the no-fault situation. Let us know as early as possible, because fewer expenses may have been paid out.

Typhoons and rain

If the government declares a typhoon day off for the tour area, the tour does not run and we provide a full refund. Without such a declaration, rain alone does not cancel the tour; the guide adjusts the route for conditions.

Changes to your group

Tell us early if the guest count changes. A larger group may require a different vehicle, so we will issue an updated quote.
