Tour Information

Taiwan, a mountainous island in East Asia, boasts rich avian biodiversity. Our 13 day itinerary aims to explore this, especially focusing on endemic species across Dasyueshan, Hehuanshan, and Yushan/Alishan. These regions, with elevations between 2600 and 3200 meters, offer varied birdwatching habitats. We’ll also explore the northern coast for migratory birds and wetlands for waterbirds. If the season allows, a boat trip to Lanyu Island will enhance our adventure, with chances to spot unique island birds and seabirds. The tour promises sightings of 85%+ of endemic species of birds and 60%-70% of the endemic subspecies of birds. Usually 180-200 or more bird species can be expected in this tour.

Our tour showcases all endemic species across key mountain birding sites and Kenting National Park, including Swinhoe’s Pheasant, Mikado Pheasant, Taiwan Partridge, Rufous-crowned Laughingthrush,Taiwan Rosefinch, Flamecrest, Taiwan Bush Warbler (April to August), Taiwan Shortwing, Taiwan Bush Robin..etc and the Styan’s Bulbul in Kenting. Additionally, we aim to collect sightings of East Asian rare waterbirds like the Black-faced Spoonbill, and endangered Nordmann’s Greenshank. Lanyu exploration (April to September) offers sightings of the Japanese Paradise Flycatcher, Elegant Scops Owl, and Whistling Green Pigeon, with some seabirds spotted on the ferry.

Here we offer two itineraries, the first one is the 13D12N tour WITH Lanyu and the second one is the 13D12N tour WITHOUT Lanyu.
